Louie's Bio

Louie Perry III, a Cornerstone principal and director, has more than 32 years of experience in Washington, D.C. with an emphasis on motorsports, health, travel, agriculture, corporate, and appropriations work.  He manages a diverse portfolio of clients that includes hospitals, corporations, conservation and wildlife organizations, and health organizations.

Dozens of high profile clients have come to rely on Louie’s expertise on membership and trade association government affairs, agriculture, and moderate politics. Since Cornerstone’s founding, Louie has led the firm’s work on behalf of a national hunting and wildlife conservation association. He also leads the firm’s work for the largest state winegrape grower association in the United States, as well as a trade association representing 95 percent of the nation’s egg producers and processors. In addition, he leads the firm’s efforts for America’s most respected health care and pharmaceutical company on health policy, and works as the Washington representative for the prearranged ground transportation industry’s trade association. This is in addition to current efforts for local economic development for a medium sized Southern city, federal advocacy for two comprehensive not for profit regional health care systems, and work for the preeminent trade association representing the U. S. business travel industry. He also manages the firm’s efforts on behalf of our motorsports client who owns 13 of the major NASCAR venues.

Prior to his work at Cornerstone, Louie served as Vice President at a large government relations firm in Washington, D.C.  There, he worked for the firm’s oldest client, for whom he helped secure federal research funding at NIH, a marketing order to reduce historical crop surpluses, and procurement of the client’s products in USDA feeding programs.  He also represented a large fresh fruit and vegetable distribution network, a chemical industry trade association, a major U.S. auto manufacturer along with a number of hospitals and colleges.

Previously, Louie served at the National Cotton Council of America for eight years as the cotton and textile industry liaison with Congressional and Executive branch offices. He was also the industry representative responsible for development and implementation of the $8.2 billion crop insurance reform legislation, and managed a Congressional Education Program to educate Members of Congress and staff about cotton issues.

Prior to serving at the Cotton Council, Louie served as both legislative staff and campaign staff for a U.S. Representative, where he was responsible for legislation on a wide range of issues including agriculture, transportation, environment, international trade and small business.

Louie maintains his technical expertise and industry contacts on Capitol Hill through membership organizations and by wearing out shoe leather walking the halls of Congress. Louie values a high level of client service and aspires to be a “trusted advisor” for his clients.  Most of his clients have been with Louie and Cornerstone for more than a decade.

Louie earned a B.A. in Speech Communication from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.  The son of a farmer whose 7th generation operation has been in the family since 1830, Louie is part owner in the family’s diversified cattle, row crop, and timber farm in Moultrie, Georgia. In his rare spare time, he also rides, admires and repairs his collection of motorcycles.
