Marty's Bio

Marty J. Fuller brings a wealth of experience in government relations and business development to Cornerstone. With a Ph.D. in agricultural economics, Marty provides deep subject matter expertise to Cornerstone clients.

Marty also continues to serve as the President and CEO of Federal Solutions, LLC, representing a wide range of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to universities and technology firms. Prior to this role, he served as the director of federal relations for Mississippi State University (MSU), substantially increasing the federal portfolio of the University. Marty also served previously as the associate director of the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station (MAFES) and as an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at MSU. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Agricultural Economics from MSU.

As a researcher, Marty was a co-inventor on four patents, two of which were licensed. He has published extensively in a number of journals and has two book chapters to his credit, as well as serving as associate editor for an internationally recognized book. He was honored by the Delta Council in 2001 with the prestigious Aquaculture Achievement Award. Marty is a proven team builder having served as project coordinator on several research initiatives with scientists from a broad range of disciplines and backgrounds.

As a teacher, Marty has served as major professor on a number of Master’s and Doctoral committees. In the classroom, he taught at both the graduate and undergraduate level and was honored with several teaching and advising awards, including the Teaching Award of Merit by the National Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture, Outstanding Faculty Member in the College by the MSU Student Association, and Alpha Zeta’s Outstanding Teaching and Outstanding Advising Awards.

In addition to his business activities, Marty serves as a Director on the Board of First South Farm Credit, a $2 billion rural lending firm with a three-state territory. As chairman of the Audit Committee, he leads the effort to ensure the Board is fulfilling its oversight responsibilities related to the quality of financial reporting and internal controls.
