Claire's Bio

Claire Burghoff joined Cornerstone Public Affairs in January of 2019 with over eight years of experience on Capitol Hill and in the Administration, most recently having served as the communications director for the House Budget Committee under Chairman Steve Womack (R-AR). In this position, she also led the communications efforts for the Joint Select Committee on Budget and Appropriations Process Reform. Prior to this role, she worked at the Department of Health and Human Services as an advisor to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Seema Verma.

Additionally, she spent five years working for Congressman Steve Womack’s congressional office and campaign. During that time, she served as communications director, health care legislative assistant, and spokesperson. Claire began her career in the U.S. Senate working for Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) in 2010.

Claire’s expertise includes strategic communications and legislative strategy in the political arena. At Cornerstone, Claire marries communications strategies with government relations tactics on behalf of corporate, association and non-profit clients.

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Claire earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis.
