Jimmy's BioJimmy Centers joined Cornerstone Public Affairs in March 2017 as Vice President for Strategic Communications. Jimmy has worked in Iowa politics for over a decade. He has worked on presidential, congressional, gubernatorial and legislative races, in addition to various other state-wide campaigns.
Before joining Cornerstone, Jimmy founded and operated his own public relations company, Message Delivered, which offered clients full-scale public affairs and legislative communications campaigns and strategic message counsel.
Prior to entering the private sector, Jimmy served as communications director for current United States Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China Terry Branstad and current Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds when they served as governor and lieutenant governor, respectively.
During that time in the Iowa governor’s and lt. governor’s office, he led messaging efforts on their legislative priorities, which included the state’s modernization of the delivery of Medicaid services, the administration’s effort to expand rural broadband access, the innovative Home Base Iowa program to attract veterans and their families to Iowa, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) educational initiatives, and programs to train Iowans for the careers of tomorrow. In addition, he served as the administration’s on-the-record spokesman, wrote speeches for the governor and lieutenant governor, organized hundreds of events and press conferences, and led crisis communications and rapids response operations for the executive branch and governor’s office.
Jimmy is a Peoria, Illinois native and currently resides in Des Moines, Iowa.
